Vertical Edge (VE) is more than a program run for 7-8th graders. It's not just retreats and all-nighters, pool parties, loud music, food, and wacky games. It's not just small groups. It's not just a room in the church we fill up every time we meet. VE is a team of students, parents, volunteers and staff that help to turn these "programs" into ministry; a ministry to students and a ministry to the world around them.
YOUTH NIGHTS include a large group that is designed to have a friendly, fun, challenging and exciting atmosphere, filled with laughter, games, videos, singing, drama and a message to challenge students towards spiritual decisions and maturity. They happen every Tuesday from 7-9pm.
CORE GROUPS are key for making our big group small. They will be led by Caring and loving adults who develop relationships with students and model genuine Christianity. This group meets once per month allowing more one-to-one relational ministry by which students are being cared for.
SPECIAL EVENTS Once in a while we have to make room in our building for other ministries to happen, so every now and then we usually try to do this event away from the church. This program is also an entry-level event and it includes activities such as Mega Ice Skating, Swimming, Hay Night, etc.
CHECKERS DINER Food is always a great way to hang out while waiting for your rides. Checkers, is located just across from the youth center, and is always open after Youth Nights. So if you want some refreshments, bring some spare change for the concession in Checkers.
HIGHER GROUND Higher Ground is the Bible teaching program that happens during the 9/11:00am Sunday services. This is a time during which youth can dive deep into God's Word and learn to apply the teachings to their lives. Students are encouraged to bring their own Bible and be ready to jump into the topics. Higher Ground is open to all students in grades 6-8.
